Meet Katie, a candidate for the Mokena 159 Elementary School District Board! As a dedicated mom with two children in 159 schools, a Master’s degree from Lewis University, and a career as a social worker, she brings a valuable perspective to the table.
I had the chance to sit down with Katie to discuss her vision for the school board, including how she hopes to strengthen communication and enhance our schools.
Jim and his wife, Jaymie, have lived in Mokena since 2007, raising their three children in District 159 schools. A Mokena native and graduate of Mokena Jr. High and Lincoln-Way, Jim works as a Financial Representative with Country Financial and has served the community as past President of the Mokena Lions Club, current President of the Mokena Burros, and both President and Vice President of the Mokena School District 159 Board.

When I planned to attend this event I thought I could put a quick set of clips together but the Mayor and his slate, for the first time, laid out their plans as well as talked about their opponents and how they differ. I thought it was worth including the whole event.
